CARERS COUNCIL FOR NORFOLK
The Carers Council for Norfolk is an independent body designed to bring together a wide range of Carers from different backgrounds, experience and geographical locations across Norfolk. With a voting majority guaranteed to Carer members the Council work in partnership with Voluntary, Community and Charitable organisations, along with Commissioners and Officers representing Norfolk Adult Social Services; Older People's Services, Health etc.
The work and structure of the Council focuses on ensuring that Carers have the opportunity to review service provision and influence policy, strategy and budgetary decisions taken by service providers with regard to Carers.
A Carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid help and support to a relative, friend, partner or child who cannot manage becuase of disability, illness or frailty. Over 81,000 people in Norfolk are Carers.
